1. About Moradok Law
Moradok Law is a legal services firm based in Bangkok, Thailand, specialising in inheritance and estate matters. We are registered to practise law in Thailand and operate under the supervision of the Lawyers Council of Thailand.
Our principal place of business is: 73 Charoen Nakhon Road, Khlong San, Bangkok 10600, Thailand. You may contact us by telephone at +66 2 613 84 27 or by email at [email protected].
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") apply to all persons who contact us, request information, or engage us to provide legal services ("you" or "the Client").
2. Our Services
Moradok Law provides the following inheritance legal services:
- Estate Review and Guidance — a careful review of an estate and related documents, including a private consultation and a written plain-language overview of the steps ahead.
- Will and Succession Assistance — assistance understanding a will and the order of succession, including document review and supportive communication.
- Estate Dispute Representation — representation in contested estate matters, including full document handling and ongoing legal guidance. Each dispute case is assessed individually before we confirm representation.
All services are provided in English and are intended to assist families and individuals navigating Thai inheritance law. The scope of each service is confirmed in a separate client engagement letter or service agreement provided before any work begins.
3. Engaging Our Services
Our formal legal relationship begins only when both parties have agreed to a written engagement letter or service agreement. Submitting a contact form or enquiring by phone or email does not itself create a client relationship.
Before confirming engagement, we may require:
- Identification documents for all relevant parties
- Copies of any existing wills, estate documents, or correspondence
- Completion of a client identification check, as required under Thai anti-money laundering regulations
We reserve the right to decline to act in any matter at our discretion, including where a conflict of interest exists or where we are unable to act within our area of competence.
4. Fees and Payment
Our current service fees are as follows:
- Estate Review and Guidance: ฿1,540
- Will and Succession Assistance: ฿2,860
- Estate Dispute Representation: ฿4,160 (initial assessment; further fees are agreed separately depending on the complexity and duration of the matter)
Fees are quoted in Thai Baht and are inclusive of VAT where applicable. Payment terms are set out in the engagement letter. We accept bank transfer to our designated account.
Additional disbursements (court filing fees, courier costs, official translation charges, and so forth) are charged separately and will be notified in advance where possible.
If a matter is terminated before completion, fees are charged on a time-spent basis for work already undertaken, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
5. Confidentiality
All information shared with Moradok Law is treated with strict professional confidentiality. We will not disclose your personal information or case details to any third party without your prior written consent, except where we are required to do so by law or by a competent regulatory authority.
Our confidentiality obligations continue after the conclusion of any matter and do not expire.
You agree that we may retain copies of documents and correspondence relating to your matter in accordance with our document retention policy and applicable Thai law.
6. Client Responsibilities
You agree to:
- Provide us with accurate, complete, and timely information relevant to your matter
- Notify us promptly if any relevant circumstances change
- Respond to our reasonable requests for information or documentation within a reasonable time
- Pay invoices within the period set out in the engagement letter
- Not request that we act in any way that would breach professional rules or Thai law
If inaccurate or incomplete information causes delay or additional work, we may adjust our fees accordingly after notifying you.
7. Scope and Limitations
Our advice is based on Thai law as it stands at the time advice is given. Laws change, and we are not responsible for the effect of any legislative or regulatory change after the date of our advice, unless we have expressly agreed to advise on an ongoing basis.
We advise on Thai inheritance law only. We are not qualified to advise on the laws of other jurisdictions, and you should seek separate advice if assets or parties are located outside Thailand.
Legal outcomes are never certain, and no statement made by Moradok Law constitutes a representation that any particular result will be achieved.
Our liability to you is limited to direct losses arising from our own negligence, and in any event shall not exceed the fees paid by you for the service in question. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or speculative losses.
8. Intellectual Property
Written documents, advice, and overviews prepared by Moradok Law for your matter are produced for your personal or business use only and may not be reproduced, published, or distributed without our prior written consent.
All content on the Moradok Law website — including text, design, and layout — is the property of Moradok Law and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
9. Termination
Either party may terminate the engagement with reasonable written notice. If you terminate the engagement, fees for work already completed become due.
We may terminate an engagement immediately if:
- You request that we act contrary to our professional obligations
- A conflict of interest arises that cannot be resolved
- Payment of undisputed invoices is significantly overdue
- We are unable to take instructions from you for an extended period
Upon termination, we will return your original documents and take reasonable steps to minimise any prejudice to your position.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Kingdom of Thailand. Any dispute arising from or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Thailand.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in law, our services, or our operating practices. The current version is always available on our website. If you have an active engagement with us, we will notify you of any material changes.
Continued use of our services after a change has been notified constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
